They actually are not that different from a warrior and while you don't have quite as much hp/ac as a warrior you do have much better hate generation than a warrior with spells like flame lick and to a lesser extent snare. "So just curious.if Rangers really should just melee, their spells are of little benefit group wise ( as compared to just having a druid/shaman/cleric ) then how is a Ranger different then a Warrior except being less able to tank and having a few spells that might make them alittle easier to solo with?" Just looking for some insight to the use of bows.I kind of thought SoW+Snare+Bows would be a fun revisit to playing my brothers ranger sometimes but I dont wanna roll a gimped Warrior obviously. And yes I know I could roll an SK but id like to hold on to Dual Wield if i could =/ I only ask because Id like to roll one.i think.just wondering if im remaking my warrior where he he a little worse at all he does.but can solo just a bit ems pointless on that end. Just trying to see how a Melee Ranger is not just a Warrior with some gimpy spells? So just curious.if Rangers really should just melee, their spells are of little benefit group wise ( as compared to just having a druid/shaman/cleric ) then how is a Ranger different then a Warrior except being less able to tank and having a few spells that might make them alittle easier to solo with? I am realizing that I find the warrior will be a slow, miserable climb upwards if I do not decide to group pretty much all the time, but I LOVE dual wielding s why i end up playing warriors in most game I play basically. That being said, I always enjoyed watching my brother kite HG's to farm money and having SoW, some utility with spells, and plinking/hacking away at things. So, I have rolled a Warrior on Lockjaw, now given he is only lvl 8 but I am finding myself to be more of a loner then I was 14 years ago and do not ALWAYS want to group. ![]() So basically after clicking through several pages of posts here and reading what I could on Rangers, it seems I have come to the conclusion that bows are good for pulling but Rangers best bet is straight up melee.
